The Story of Deduck.

Hi, I'm Danel. I started out in 2019 with a project called MC4all. Back then, I had zero experience in the hosting scene and quickly realized I couldn't compete. I spent the next few years working for various hosts, learning the ropes, until Deduck was finally born in late 2025. As a broke student, I just wanted to play Minecraft with my friends without being forced into a €20 monthly subscription for a server we only used twice a week.

Existing free hosts were either painfully slow, trapped you in hour-long queues, or deleted your progress if you went inactive for 48 hours. I knew there was a better way. After months of designing, scrapping, and restarting from scratch, I finally built a platform I'm proud of. It all started with a single, second-hand rack server in my basement - which, as you can imagine, got incredibly hot.

What began as a private project for my friends has grown into something much bigger. It is now 2026, and Deduck is officially open to the public, serving hundreds of players every day. We aren't a faceless corporation; we're a small team of gamers who believe multiplayer gaming should be accessible to everyone.

Our costs are covered by donations, optional premium tiers, and cosmetic perks. That means we will never sell your data, and we will never implement "pay-to-win" queues.

Our Journey

Dec 2019

First line of code written. The original prototype was called "MC4all" and ran on a cheap VPS and was horribly slow.

Feb 2020

My time at some smaller Public Hosting Provider gave me the idea to rewrite everything well unfortunately that meant the usual developer perfectionist loop.

Oct 2025

The first real core of Deduck was written the design and idea also was finally somewhat finished. The first version of the panel was ready.

NOW

Today

Since Deduck was opened its doors it has been a few months and well things are looking great.

Meet the Team

The people who keep the servers running (and fix them when they break).

Why is it free?

We get asked this a lot. The truth is, server hardware has gotten cheaper, but most hosting companies haven't lowered their prices.

We operate on a "Freemium" model. The free tier is generous and perfect for friends. Power users who need 24/7 uptime or more RAM can upgrade to a paid plan.

Where does the money go?
100% of revenue goes back into hardware upgrades, DDoS mitigation, and paying our developers. We don't have investors demanding profit margins.
